Emma English died at her home, 616 South Quincy street, from apoplexy. She had been ill since Saturday. Emma Etta Marshall was born September 20, 1860, in Owen County, Illinois, the daughter of Cyrus and Sarah Ann (Collins) Marshall. She was united in marriage to Hiram B. English at Waveland, Ind., on October 28, 1875, who preceeded her in death. She leaves the following children: H. C. English, Gary, Ind.; Charles English, Lebanon, Ind.; Fred English, Frankfort, Ind.; and Ray and John English of Clinton. One daughter preceeded her in death. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Ella Davis of Mecca, Ind., besides 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at the late home in Clinton, Friday morning at 10 o'clock with Mrs. Meta Schaffer, Christian Science reader, in charge. Burial will be made in Maple Cemetery at Waveland, Ind. The body was taken to Pullen's chapel and prepared for burial. Among those present at the burial here on Friday evening were Mrs. Schaffer, Mrs. Gray, Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Bennett, Mrs. Garmine, Mrs. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. John English, John Jr. and Helen and Ray English of Clinton, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry English, Harper English and Miss Youbey of Gary; Mr. and Mrs. Charles English, Herman, Clifford, Frank and Frances of Lebanon; Mr. and Mrs. Fred English and Mr. and Mrs. Byron Pugh of Frankfort; Owen Hastaday of Crawfordsville; Miss Dolly Hastaday of Lafayette; W. H. Evans of Linden; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Steffy of Clinton; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Marshall of Marshall; Mrs. Walter Metzler and daughter of Indianapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Moore and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Mankin, Mrs. Mary Montet and daughters, James Lawson and Zeno Davis of Mecca.

Mrs. Emma English, widow of the late Baker English, died at her home in Clinton, Ill., at 4:45 on Tuesday morning. She had been in her usual health and on Saturday evening at 9:15 was talking over the phone to her son, Charles in Lebanon, when she had a paralytic seizure from which she did not rally. She probably had a similar seizure six months ago when she fell and dislocated her shoulder. She had been making a home for her son, Ray. John English also lives in Clinton; Harry in Gary; Fred in Frankfort and Charles in Lebanon. The only daughter, Mrs. Grace Evans, is dead. A funeral service at the home in Clinton will be held this Friday morning. The body will then be brought here for burial in Maple Ridge Cemetery where a short service will be held at about four o'clock. The Englishes formerly lived in the house now occupied by Leland Gooding. Charles English was here on Wednesday, making arrangements for the burial.
